Inspired by Two Runaways, Built with Love

Boop & Bork isn’t just a pet brand—it’s a love letter to two very special rescue dogs, Leela and Tuni, who completely changed our lives.

Our journey began with Leela, a runaway pitbull who became my first dog and the heart of our family. When my partner and I moved to Colorado, we faced a heartbreaking decision. Denver County’s pitbull ban at the time (which was finally lifted in November 2020) and restrictions at our apartment meant we couldn’t bring Leela with us. Instead, she stayed with my parents, where she now lives the ultimate luxury life—completely spoiled and treated like the queen she is.

Fast forward a few years, after the ban was lifted, we decided to honor Leela by adopting another pitbull. That’s when Petunia (Tuni) joined our family. We named her after Leela (Petunia is actually Leela’s middle name) to carry on her legacy. Tuni brought new energy and joy into our lives, and the two quickly became sisters—though separated by distance.

In 2024, life threw another curveball. My partner had to return to Louisiana for an entire year to complete her post-doc, and she took Tuni with her. As tough as it was to be apart, something magical happened during that time: Tuni got to meet and live with her long-lost older sister, Leela. For an entire year, they were inseparable, living their best lives together while my partner wrapped up her post-doc.

Meanwhile, I stayed in Denver, missing all three of them terribly. During that time, my brother and I channeled our love for Leela and Tuni into something bigger—and that’s how Boop & Bork was born.
